Farm blog and newsletters
Your CSAware store can have a farm blog, and any published post can go out as a newsletter. Customers read posts on your storefront; you write them in the LocalHarvest editor.
You'll find it under Comms / Blog. (Vendor admins only.)
Create the blog
If this store doesn't have a blog yet, pick which vendor admin will own it and click Continue. That opens LocalHarvest so they can finish creating it. UberAdmin cannot be the owner.
The owner can add other vendor admins as editors later in Blog Settings.
If you already blog on LocalHarvest, this is that same blog. Comms / Blog is the CSAware door into those posts, plus the email button.
Write and publish
On Comms / Blog:
- Click Write a Post. The LocalHarvest editor opens in a new tab.
- Write the post, add photos if you like, and save a draft or publish.
- View Blog is what customers see on your store (
/blog/). View on LocalHarvest is the same posts on your listing.
Blog Settings is for the owner: editors, categories, and the usual blog options.
If you can see the blog but not Write a Post, the owner hasn't added you as an editor yet.
Email a post as a newsletter
Once a post is published, Email this post (on Comms / Blog, or on the post itself if you're logged in as a vendor admin) opens a Broadcast draft:
- The subject starts as the post title. You can change it.
- The body is a short teaser from the published post, plus a Read more link to the full article on your store. You don't edit the body in CSAware — it's taken from the live post at send time.
- Choose who gets it the same way as any other broadcast (shares, drops, status, and so on).
- These sends are promotional, so promotional opt-outs are skipped.
- Blog newsletters are email only (no SMS).
Preview and send from Broadcast as usual.
If you unpublish or delete the post before you hit send, the send will fail.
Where customers see it
Published posts appear at https://yourfarm.csaware.com/blog/ — same look as the rest of your site — and on your LocalHarvest listing. Default store menus get a Blog link automatically; if you maintain a custom menu and don't already have one, CSAware appends it.
There are no comments on the CSAware storefront. Comments, if you use them, stay on LocalHarvest.
Good to know
- One blog per store. It is shared with your LocalHarvest listing.
- Any vendor admin can email a published post. Only editors (and the owner) can write.
- Drafts stay in the LocalHarvest editor until you publish; they do not show on the store or in the email list.
