📱 SMS Broadcast Functionality

CSAware admins who have enabled SMS Messaging in their account can easily send text message broadcasts to any segment of their membership.

🚀 Turn on your SMS Settings

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Go to "Home" "Settings" "SMS"
  3. Fill out your SMS settings fields and "Submit"

📱 How to Send an SMS Broadcast

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Go to the "Customers & Partners" in the top menu.
  3. Click "Broadcast E-mail/SMS" then “+ New Draft”
  4. Select the “SMS” tab on the new draft page and then choose your audience:
    • Select from the dropdown filters (e.g. "Active Subscriptions", by share type, week, or item)
  5. Write your message (160 characters max).
    • Tip: Keep it short and action-oriented!
  6. Select “Save Draft” and preview your message.
    Send a test message or hit “Broadcast”.

📊 After You Send

  • View delivery stats under “SMS List”
    • Queued - all outbound messages are initially queued as our system initially accepts the message and attempts to send it to a carrier.
    • Sent -  a message is marked as sent when the message is successfully passed on to a downstream carrier. 
    • Failed- a message is marked as failed if an internal error occurs before the message is passed on to downstream carriers. 
    • Delivered - a message is marked delivered based on confirmation of delivery receipt received from your member's carrier. 
    • Undelivered - a message is marked undelivered based on an unsuccessful delivery receipt received from your member's carrier. 

🔐 Things to Keep in Mind

  • Members must have a valid phone number and have opted in to receive SMS messages over emails. This can be verified by checking their subscriber settings.
  • Blasts can be sent to both SMS and e-mail recipients at once.
